Himanshu Roy is one of the main officers for the arrest of Vindu Dara Singh, who had been accused for his links with the bookies for IPL spot fixing in 2013.

On 11th of May 2018, he has shot himself on head due to some undisclosed reason. The main cause of his is still a mystery. However, Mumbai Police has started the investigation to find the reason of his death. Furthermore, Himanshu has also suffering from Bone Cancer.
